LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was shot and killed in the Highlands Sunday morning, according to Louisville Metro Police.

LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said police responded to a shooting on Bardstown Road at the intersection of Baxter Avenue around 3:30 a.m. When police arrived on scene, they found that two vehicles had crashed into each other.

Police said a man was shot in the 1000 block of Bardstown Road and drove a short distance before the crash. The man was taken to the hospital, but later died. He hasn't been identified yet. 

Ellis said the driver of the other vehicle wasn't seriously injured in the crash, and their injuries are believed to non-life-threatening. 

Police don't have any suspects in the shooting or a motive. LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.
