LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person was shot Monday inside a Waffle House restaurant in Valley Station.
Louisville Metro Police spokesman Aaron Ellis said it happened just before 12:30 p.m. in the 10500 block of Dixie Highway, near Ashby Lane. Officers arrived on scene to find a man inside the restaurant who'd been shot.
Ellis said officers rendered first aid until EMS could arrive and take the man to UofL Hospital. He was alert and conscious on the way and is expected to survive, Ellis said.
Police are working to determine the relationship between those involved. Ellis said officers detained one person at the scene, and "all parties are accounted for."
