LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police are conducting a death investigation after human remains were found in the Bashford Manor neighborhood. 

Officers were called to the 3400 block of Gladden Drive off Bashford Manor Lane around 1:45 p.m. Friday on a call of human remains being found, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Upon arrival, officers found a man's "severely decomposed remains" in Beargrass Creek, Ellis said. The remains were sent to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office for testing to determine a cause of death.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.
