LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The reward for information leading to an arrest in a Louisville animal cruelty case has grown to $30,000 as investigators continue searching for the person responsible for abandoning an injured dog inside a garbage bag.

The case dates back to April 28, when a groundskeeper at Iroquois Golf Course reported hearing an animal crying. According to investigators, the worker found a husky later named Sammie inside a garbage bag.

Authorities said the dog was severely injured and had twine wrapped around her snout. Sammie suffered a broken neck and, despite efforts to help her, was later euthanized due to the extent of her injuries.

Animal advocates and investigators have continued to push for answers in the case, which sparked outrage across the Louisville community.
