LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Shively murder suspect is still at large.

Shively Police said there's been misinformation on social media that a suspect has been arrested. Police said that's not true, and no one has been arrested.

Officers are looking for Labradford Jamarr Ward, 35, on charges of murder, murder-domestic violence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Brown said Ward drives a 2021 red Ford Mustang with a Kentucky plate of F3W849.

Shively Police warned the public not to approach Ward. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

The double fatal shooting happened early Monday morning, according to Shively Police. Officers were called a little after 1:30 a.m. to the 3200 block of Kingswood Way on a report of a shooting. That's in a neighborhood off Cane Run Road near Ralph Avenue.

When police arrived, they found two women in their 20s both suffering from gunshot wounds. Brown said both women died at the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office on Monday identified the women who died as 22-year-old Amia N. Cox and 26-year-old Sontia R. Simmons.

Shively Police released a past mugshot of Ward along with police body camera images of him from a traffic stop in May 2025.
