LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 29-year-old man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting earlier this month in Louisville's Taylor Berry neighborhood.
Louisville Metro Police spokesman Aaron Ellis said Shaveon Boyd, of Pekin, Indiana, was arrested in Fayette County, Ohio, which is about 75 miles northeast of Cincinnati.
The shooting happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9. LMPD officers were called to the 3300 block of Utah Avenue to find 31-year-old William Kannamore with multiple gunshot wounds. LMPD spokesman Sgt. Matt Sanders said officers rendered aid, applying a chest seal and tourniquet.
Kannamore was taken to UofL Health Hospital in critical condition and into surgery. Just before 11 p.m., Sanders said Kannamore had died.
Boyd is charged with murder. LMPD said he is being held in the Fayette County jail in Ohio awaiting extradition back to Louisville.
