LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- People are reportedly breaking into cars in Spencer County.
The Spencer County Sheriff's Office said it received several calls Wednesday night about people going through cars.
That's when officers discovered a silver BMW was stolen. After posting a warning on social media, officers got a video showing at least four people breaking into a garage.
Officers believe they stole the BMW. The sheriff's office is reminding residents to lock their cars and remove all valuables.
"If you have valuables you can't get out, make sure they're not in plain view. Ninety-nine percent of the time we deal with these types of cases, you'll catch them on Ring cameras simply pulling door handles," said Andrew Ware, with the Spencer County Sheriff's Office. "If they're locked, they'll move on to the next."
Officers have identified one of the suspects seen in the video, but the investigation is ongoing.
If you have any information, call the Spencer County Sheriff's Office at (502) 477-5533.
