LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Bullitt County man faces a murder charge after allegedly shooting a man north of Elizabethtown and dragging the victim's body along Dixie Highway, as he drove from the scene Sunday morning.

According to Hardin County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy David Lee, Derrick J. Franks, 36, of Radcliff was shot in the face. His body was found in the 5000 block of North Dixie Highway between the city limits of Elizabethtown and Radcliff.

Lee said the shooting happened in a car driven by Cruz C. Frescas, 25, of Shepherdsville. Investigators believe Franks' body was dragged from inside the car, as Frescas drove away.

There is no official information on a motive for the shooting.

Frescas and his vehicle were found in Shelby County where he was arrested. Frescas is being held on a $500,000 bond.

There is no date for when Frescas will return to Hardin County to face arraignment on the murder charge.
