LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 21-year-old man charged in a shooting at an apartment complex near the University of Louisville campus over the weekend has pleaded not guilty.

The shooting happened around 1 o'clock Saturday morning. That's when UofL campus police responded to reports of a loud party at the Retreat apartments, near UofL's Belknap campus. Responding officers heard gunshots after the party had been broken up.

According to court documents, a man was shot in the abdomen and taken to UofL Hospital. There's no word on his condition.

After the shooting, police found Marwan Frouh at a Thorntons at 7th Street and Algonquin Parkway, bleeding from the hand and carrying a gun with a magazine missing. Frouh told officers he was being chased by four people when he shot someone.

A woman who had flagged down officers provided footage from a doorbell camera that helped police locate the missing magazine, which fit the gun Frouh was carrying.

Police said the doorbell video did not show anyone chasing Frouh before the shooting.

Frouh pleaded not guilty to assault during his initial hearing on Monday. The judge lowered his bond from $500,000 cash to $50,000.
