LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A teenager was taken to the hospital after being shot in the Portland neighborhood early Saturday morning, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said police a 16-year-old was dropped off at University of Louisville Hospital with a gunshot wound just after midnight. The boy was alert and conscious when he arrived. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, according to Ellis.
Police believe the shooting happened in the 1500 block of Portland Avenue. Ellis said detectives are working to see what led up to the shooting.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit will be investigating the shooting. There aren't any known suspects yet.
