LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bardstown Road in Louisville was shut down on Sunday so people could enjoy some fitness in the sunshine.
The Tom Owen CycLOUvia was held on Bardstown Road between Douglass Boulevard and Grinstead Drive near Tyler Park and Cherokee Triangle neighborhoods. The roadway was closed to vehicles so people could safety bicycle, scoot, skate, run, walk and roll around.
"Pretty awesome," Evan Boggs said. "They got all of Bardstown Road shutdown, especially here at probably the best part right out front of Home Skate Shop. We got a park set up, tons of skating happening. It's really great."
CycLOUvia was created to promote mental, physical, and emotional well-being, along with encouraging eco-friendly transportation.
The event went from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.Â
