LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Country legend Dolly Parton took to social media on Wednesday to "put everyone's mind at ease."
There have been rumors and stories circulating about her, since she went public on Sept. 29 with health issues that forced her to cancel a Las Vegas residency and other appearances for the rest of the year.
During the two minute video in a studio, Parton said she was shooting promos for the Grand Ole Opry and wanted to reassure the public she "ain't dead yet."
"I appreciate your prayers. I'm a person of faith, and I can always use the prayers for anything and everything," she said. "But I want you to know that I'm okay."
Parton said she neglected her health while her late husband, Carl Dean, was sick, but she said it's "nothing major." She said she does need to stay closer to home while she gets "a few treatments" here and there at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
"Any way, there's just a lot of rumors flying around, but I figured if you heard it from me, you'd know that I was okay. So that's what I wanted to say. I'm not ready to die yet, and I don't think God is through with me, and I ain't done working."
Here's the video she posted on social media.
Parton performs on occasion but hasn't toured since her “Pure & Simple Tour” ended in 2016. But she's remained as busy as ever: On. Nov. 11, she will release a new book, “Star of the Show: My Life on Stage." And a new stage musical inspired by her life story is set to land on Broadway in 2026.
In September, Parton was unable to attend the announcement of a new ride at her Tennessee theme park Dollywood due to health issues. “I had a kidney stone that was causing me a lot of problems, turned out it’d given me an infection."
And in March of this year, Parton's devoted husband of nearly 60 years who avoided the spotlight and inspired her timeless hit “Jolene,” Carl Dean, died. He was 82.
