LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools is opting for a Non-Traditional Instruction Day Wednesday due to forecasted snow during the morning commute.

The state's largest school district announced the decision Tuesday evening. It's the fifth NTI day this academic year. JCPS gets 10 NTI days per school year. 

All athletic and extracurricular activities are canceled for Wednesday as well.

A winter storm warning is in effect for much of the region through Tuesday, with 3 to 5 more inches of snow expected overnight.
