LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Scottsburg High School student took top honors in Indiana's 9th Congressional District Art Competition.

Congresswoman Eric Houchin, R-Indiana's 9th District, announced the winners Wednesday. First place went to Jordan Bailey for her piece, "Peelin' Myself." Second place was "City of Mind" by Devin Fox of East Central High School, and third place was "Frenzied French Horn" by Zoey Parr, also of East Central High School. 

"Congratulations to these talented students—and thank you to everyone who submitted artwork," Houchin said in a news release. "I'm proud to see so much creativity and passion from young artists across Indiana's 9th District. 

The annual Congressional Art Competition, sponsored by the U.S. House of Representative, highlights young artistic talent in each district.

For winning first place, Bailey's artwork will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for one year along with other winning entries from congressional districts across the country. Bailey will also receive a trip to Washington D.C. to recognize all winners.
