LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Polling locations in Kentucky and Indiana opened at 6 a.m. Tuesday, and residents can cast their votes until 6 p.m.
The governor's race in Kentucky is front and center of this year's election, as Attorney General Daniel Cameron attempts to unseat incumbent Gov. Andy Beshear. The lines were moving quickly at polling locations early Tuesday. Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams said more Kentuckians took advantage of early voting this year: 260,000 early voters up from 253,000 last year.

Adams said the state still expects this year's voter turnout to be closer to last year's turnout of around 42%.
The Jefferson County Clerk's Office said it's prepared for in-person voters, but you should also be prepared by bringing a form of identification. It can be a driver's license, a student ID, passport or anything with your photo on it.
Around 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jefferson County Clerk's Office spokesman Erran Huber two polling locations would have extended hours — until 6:30 p.m. — due to disruptions earlier in the day. Circuit Court Judge Brian Edwards granted the county's request to leave the polling locations at Blue Lick Elementary School and Highland Baptist Church open for an extra 30 minutes.
A gas leak forced a 30-minute closure at Highland Baptist, and a police pursuit forced a similar one at Blue Lick Elementary. Anyone in line by 6:30 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
TARC is offering free rides to the polls on Election Day. Service will also be fare-free for TARC3 paratransit customers on Election Day.
