LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana's former attorney general Curtis Hill is scheduled to go on trial next week.
It comes nearly seven years after Hill was accused of drunkenly groping an elected official and several staffers at a bar in 2018, while he was still in office.
The four women filed a lawsuit, which was dismissed by a judge because Hill wasn't their employer, and said there was no basis for a federal sexual harassment claim.
While no criminal charges were filed against Hill, in 2020 the Indiana Supreme Court found "clear and convincing evidence that Hill committed the criminal act of battery" and suspended his law license for 30 days.
That same year, his accusers filed a civil lawsuit against Hill, this time in state court, after their first suit was dismissed. The lawsuit asks for them to be awarded damages for both mental anguish and emotional distress.
The civil trial is scheduled to start Monday.
Hill has consistently denied the accusations.
