LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A group from Fairdale donated $800 worth of bedding to Norton Children's Hospital Friday.
It all began with Henry Jones' story, he was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, which means the left side of his heart wasn't formed correctly, affecting blood flow.Â
He has lived through multiple open-heart surgeries. It was his simple request that caused strangers to rally.
"All he wanted was some sheets from home," Dana Sample, with The Eagles Club, said. "And it just made my heart melt. So I went back to my group and said we need to do this, we need to get some sheets and raise some money for his foundation.
The Eagles Club in Fairdale donated money for the cause. The money was used to buy crib sheets, bedding and mattress toppers.
The Eagles Club has been helping the community for nearly 120 years. Now, the group is raising money for Door Dash cards for families during long-term hospital stays.
