LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Fern Creek Fire department has a new fire chief.

Scott Evans has been named the new chief of Fern Creek Fire and EMS, the department said in a release Friday. Evans has more than 31 years of experience in fire service and emergency medical response.

He was previously a deputy chief and has been with Fern Creek for the past five years.

Evans, who was formally sworn in on Friday, replaces former chief Nathan Mulvey, who retired after 32 years of service.
