Floyd Central High School student, football player who drowned will be laid to rest Friday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Funeral arrangements have been released for a Floyd Central High School student who drowned last week.

Visitation for Noah Maddox, 17, will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northside Christian Church on Charlestown Road in New Albany. His funeral will follow at 1 p.m.

Floyd Central is doing an e-learning day Friday so students and staff can attend.

Maddox drowned in the Highland Lake Subdivision, between Georgetown and Greenville. His body was found around 10:45 p.m. last Friday, April 25.

His death comes just six months after the loss of another student, Bryce Gerlach, a mentor to Maddox and a fellow football player from Corydon Central High School. Gerlach was shot and killed during the Harvest Homecoming festival in downtown New Albany in October.
