LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hunting, fishing and trapping licenses are going up in Indiana for the first time in 15 years.

An annual fishing license will go from $17 to $23 and an annual hunting and trapping license will go from $17 to $20.

Indiana DNR said the price changes will allow it to maintain its core programs like habitat restoration, maintaining public lands and doing scientific research.

The changes go into effect on Jan. 1.
