LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police will participate in Drug Take Back Day on Saturday.
The Drug Enforcement Administration is sponsoring the 27th nationwide prescription drug take back initiative April 26. According to a news release Tuesday, the take back initiatives try to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through proper disposal of prescription drugs.
Collection sites are set up for expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. The program is for liquid and pill medications. Police said vaping pens without batteries and vaping cartridges will also be taken. Needs won't be accepted for disposal.Â
The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked.
Indiana State Police at Sellersburg, located at 8014 CR 311, will be accepting unused or expired prescription medication from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
