LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Now is your chance to get rid of those unnecessary, expired, and unused prescriptions.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is sponsoring the 29th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Indiana State Police will be one of nearly 4,000 law enforcement partners across the country participating in the program that's safe and anonymous. The program's purpose is to prevent prescription drug misuse and to reduce the potential for accidental overdoses and poisonings through proper disposal.
Tablets, capsules, patches, and other forms of prescription drugs will be collected. Vaping pens without batteries and cartridges will also be taken. Needles, use or new, will not be accepted.
The Indiana State Police post in Sellersburg will be participating, as most of the posts across the state, except the Toll Road Post. To find an Indiana post closest to you, click here.
