LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- From financial help to housing and medical attention, it's all available in one location.
There are 70 interactive kiosks across the state, and they're called MyKy.info. The kiosks are designed to help people find a variety of social services. It's touch screen and it's all free.
Dania Britt's joy of being a new mom was cut short by the pandemic.
"And it literally was just me, the pandemic was happening," Britt said. "Nobody knew what was going on."
Britt said she was struggling a lot. That's when she turned to the Family Scholar House and was introduced to my ky.info kiosk.
"So I use this for quite a few things," Britt said. "One of the big things for me was diapers."
The kiosks are digital terminals located in public spaces like the Hall of Justice, JCTC and the main library.
"I was able to just find places where I could call let them know that I was a single parent and I was in need of diapers and they would set me up with an appointment to come and get them," Britt said.
The machines allow users to find and connect with community resources like food, housing, medical and more.
Deja Jackson, the director of community engagement for the Family Scholar House, said the kiosks are located throughout the state but that's not the only way to access the information.
"They're strategically placed so that anybody who can who needs it, can actually access it," Jackson said.
Jackson said thousands of people use the kiosks and it's vetted to make sure all the resources are free.
"We vet to make sure that the information is correct, so that that phone number is correct, those hours are correct because a lot of times nonprofits change their hours based on the season," Jackson said.
Britt even uses the kiosks to help find information for others.
"There was a family that had recently lost everything, and I was able to look up and find places that would help with clothing for them and their children," Britt said.
