LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A state investigation found no wrongdoing after allegations of bribery and corruption surrounding a proposed data center in Oldham County.

Former deputy judge-executive Joe Ender made several accusations against Voegele and other county officials last year, saying a social media post he witnessed 'corruption, favoritism, bribery, misconduct, retaliation and abuse of power. He also accused Voegele of holding a secret and illegal meeting in May 2025.

The county requested the Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman's office to look into the accusations.

Thursday, Oldham County Judge-Executive David Voegele gave an update about the investigation.

"False allegations damage reputations," Voegele said during a news conference. "They damage economic opportunity and they damage public trust. This is not about personalities. This is about truth, credibility and responsible leadership."

Investigators said Ender did not provide any supporting evidence for his claims.

Voegele fired Ender on July 1 for refusing to answer questions about that meeting in May.
