LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman is investigating reports of companies illegally advertising abortion pills several gas stations in the state.

According to a news release Friday, Coleman's office issued subpoenas to six gas stations in Christian, Logan and Simpson counties after advertisements for abortion pills were displayed. They displayed a message reading: "Pregnant? Don't want to be? Learn more at Mayday Health."

The company's website says it provides morning after pills, birth control and gender-affirming care.

The stations have 20 days to respond to the subpoenas.

Kentucky law prohibits the mailing or delivery of abortion-inducing drugs under House Bill 3, which was passed in 2022.

Coleman said his office intends to prevent the sale of abortion-inducing drugs in the state.

People who see the ads are encouraged to report them to the Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection.
