LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Derby Festival's touring parade will visit Louisville parks this year.
The Zoeller Pumps Touring Parade includes almost 20 units to kick off the month-long celebration. The mini parade features loops through Chickasaw Park, Shawnee Park, Waterfront Park and Iroquois Park. It goes from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6.
"We’re shifting gears for this year’s Zoeller Pump Company Touring Parade into local parks so we can be accessible to fans without tying up traffic," Matt Gibson, Kentucky Derby Festival president and CEO, said in a news release. "This mini parade is a special event that provides the Kentucky Derby Festival an opportunity to go out into the community during our favorite time of year."
The annual parade in downtown Louisville along Broadway will be Sunday, April 28.
The touring parade will leave Zoeller Pump Company at noon, traveling to Chickasaw and Shawnee parks. Then it will travel down Broadway to Waterfront Park, then to Main and Market streets.
