A Kentucky priest, well known for his kindness and generosity, is helping others stay warm this winter.
Father Jim Sichko helped pay utility bills for customers of Kentucky Utilities who had balances on their accounts, LEX18 reported.
There was a crowd of people at the KU office in downtown Lexington on Thursday, after Sichko made a social media post about wanting to help.
He paid $10,000 worth of bills.
"Teach a lesson about kindness, giving and receiving, reaching out to people in need, just paying their electricity bill," he said. "Trying the best that I could do by being an example, but also recognizing we're all helping one another."
Sichko has been in the news before for his efforts to help others. He has collected donations for people impacted by severe flooding in eastern Kentucky, auctioned items to help western Kentucky tornado victims, and has been known to pay hospital bills for people.
