LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- After playing the Kentucky Lottery's Lucky For Life for years, it finally paid off for a Lexington man.
Billy Glenn won $25,000 a year for life after matching the five white ball numbers in the November 19 drawing.
“It’s been a blessing,” Glenn said. “I’ve been stressing for the last six months.”
He told officials he had been buying tickets for Lucky For Life since the first day of sales on March 22, 2015 and plays the same two sets of numbers because it consists of anniversaries and jersey numbers of his favorite baseball players.
“I’ve just been waiting for the dream," Glenn said.
Glenn checked his ticket at home and missed just the Lucky Ball. His prize of $25,000 a year for life has a minimum payout of 20 years at $500,000 and Glenn chose the cash option of $390,000 and after taxes he took home a check for $280,804.32.
Glenn plans to pay off debt and take care of things around the house with his winnings.
“One hundred thousand dollars is going to put me at ground zero,” Glenn said. “This is a nice little reset.”
