LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky priest known for pairing faith and generosity is toasting the finale of his “Papal Series” bourbon collection.
Father Jim Sichko’s newest release honors the first American-born Pope with an 11-year wheated bourbon bottled at 125 proof — a first for the series.
Beginning Nov. 11, collectors can take part in an online auction and raffle, or make a $1,267 donation to receive a bottle directly. A few will also be available at Ernie’s Spirits in Lexington, with every dollar going to charity.
Proceeds benefit the Permanently Disabled Jockeys’ Fund, Trooper Island, and Fr. Jim’s own Missionary of Mercy outreach.
Sichko says he hopes to hand-deliver Bottle No. 1 to Pope Leo XIV next year — a fitting close to a bourbon series rooted in service and spirit.
