LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police and Indiana State Police are competing in an annual contest that honors the nation's best-looking police cruiser.
KSP and ISP entered the American Association of State Troopers (AAST) "2024 Best Looking Cruiser Contest." The competition includes state law enforcement agencies from across the country.
According to a news release, the winning photo will be on the cover of the association's 2024 wall calendar. For KSP, this year's entry celebrates the state's horse industry. The photo features a 2024 Ford Mustang GT in front of the Secretariat statue in a roundabout at Alexandria Drive and Old Frankfort Pike in Lexington.
KSP has placed in the top five in each of the past six years.
"Our state police are the best in the nation and one way we can show our support for them is by casting our vote in the best-looking cruiser contest," Gov. Andy Beshear said in a news release. "KSP won the contest in 2021 and 2022, and it’s time to take back the title. I will be casting my vote and encourage Kentuckians to join me."
