LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dozens of girls spent the day being treated like real-life royalty at a princess tea party.
Kosair for Kids hosted the second annual event at Kentucky Castle on Sunday for 37 girls of differing abilities. Some of the girls have been diagnosed with cancer, while others go through different forms of therapy or use medical equipment to help them live life to the fullest.
A fairy Godmother named Elise donated princess dresses for each of the girls and they got special makeovers from University of Kentucky's Dance Team. Each girl also received a tiara, costume jewelry, a doll of their favorite character and other presents before walking the pink carpet into the ballroom.
"I've been able to have fun and meet other people who are just like me, and that makes my heart happy," said Princess Sophia, a Kosair Kid.
The girls also learned how to twirl and enjoyed story time with their favorite Disney princesses.
