LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Animal Services wants to make it easier for families looking to start a new year with a new member.
The agency said it's waiving all adoption fees through Jan. 5. All adopters need to do is pay the $10 licensing fee.
The push comes as LMAS' shelter is close to capacity, putting some animals at risk of being euthanized.Â
The agency is encouraging people to foster animals or adopt. They're also asking people to reclaim their lost pets that were taken to LMAS.
Those interested in adopting, or fostering, can visit the Animal House adoption center at 3516 Newburg Road. It's open from noon to 6 p.m., with adoptions running until 5:30 p.m.
