LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police officers have resumed responding in person to non-injury crashes after several inches of heavy, wet snowfall overnight caused traffic issues Tuesday morning.

Numerous crashes were reported on Louisville-area interstates and secondary roads. The volume of calls involving non-injury crashes Tuesday prompted LMPD to stop responding. Drivers were instead directed to complete an online crash report.

That's according to a post on the department's Facebook page early Tuesday:

"If you are involved in a non-injury and can safely get the vehicles off the roadway, please do so. Again, we remind you to make sure to exchange names and information between you and the other driver."

A news release from LMPD said officers are again responding to non-injury crashes, as of 1:30 p.m.

Drivers are still encouraged to exercise caution, slow down, and allow for extra travel time.
