VETERANS DAY PARADE (4).jpeg

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Those who risked their lives to keep our country free were honored Saturday in a parade in Louisville.

The Kentucky Veterans Parade and Celebration marched down East Market Street through NuLu under a large draped American flag.

The 15th annual parade featured numerous military displays and more than 100 parade entries, including WDRB.

Fifteen Heroes were selected for special recognition, and the event also included a 21-gun salute and the singing of God Bless America.

Several veterans groups were present, along with people lining the streets, waving to those who put America front and center.

"I encourage the public, if you ever see an elderly veteran, to talk to them, listen to them," veteran Mark Sneed said. "That's all they want. It is the most, best feeling in the world."

Following the parade, families were invited to Touch-a-Tank to see military vehicles up close.
