LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Oh good gravy! Breakfast fans in Louisville will soon be riding the gravy train to a full belly.
The annual Gravy Cup is making a big comeback on March 1 for it's 12th year. Organizers call it the world's largest biscuits and gravy competition.
More than 30 local professional chefs and home cooks will showcase their best gravy recipes. Competitors will be divided into three categories: traditional, non-traditional and vegetarian.
A panel of professionals and celebrities will judge the competition. Attendees will also be able to vote for their favorite recipe, and the winner gets the People's Choice Award.
The annual event serves as a critical fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Haven, a Kentucky nonprofit that helps youth in foster care. The Boys & Girls Haven serves more than 500 Kentucky children each year.
The Gravy Cup will happen on March 1 at the Mellwood Art Center, 1860 Mellwood Avenue. General admission is $35 for adults and children 9-17 is $15.Â
