LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Grab your dancing shoes and get ready to line dance for a good cause.
The "And the Beat Goes On: Line Dance-A-Thon" will bring six hours of dancing, live music and fun to Louisville to raise money for River City Drum Corp.
The event, presented by Prestigious Entertainment, will run from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16 at the Baxter Community Center.
People can participate on their own or form teams to dance and raise money for the youth organization, which provides music education, leadership development and performance opportunities.
For those who can't make it to the event, organizers will livestream the fundraiser across multiple social media platforms. Viewers will be able to follow along and donate from home.
The Line Dance-A-Thon also serves as a kickoff event for "Bourbon, Blues & Boots: The Mid-Southern Hoedown."
The lineup will include performances from artists connected to Bourbon, Blues & Boots, along with DJs keeping the music going throughout the afternoon.
Food trucks, local vendors and community organizations will also be part of the event, along with challenges, giveaways and other activities throughout the day.
