LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new pool in Louisville's Camp Taylor neighborhood will open Memorial Day weekend.

The reopening of the water park at Camp Taylor Memorial Park will be celebrated May 23.

The pool will be open daily, except for Thursdays, from 12-3 p.m. Admission will be $3 for adults and $2 for kids 12 years and under.

The investment in renovating the pool was included in Metro Council's budget.

"As we head into these summer months we need to ensure our parks are safe, active and accessible," Rep. Josie Raymond, D-Louisville, said Thursday. "It's more important than ever in these summer months."

The new pool marks the first pool in the neighborhood since 2019. The work was supposed to be completed last summer, but construction delays pushed it back a year.

Construction on the renovation started in the spring of 2024 after closing the pool in 2018.

Also coming this summer is a new playground at Klondike Park, and a community garden at Buechel Park.
