Man arrested with rifle outside Highlands bar in 2021 found with fentanyl, LSD in southern Indiana

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man who was arrested with a rifle outside a Louisville business on Baxter Avenue three years ago is now facing several felony drug charges in southern Indiana.

Carmon Tussey was arrested Aug. 23 at a home in the 3100 block of Corydon Pike in New Albany after police executed a search warrant, according to the Floyd County Sheriff's Office.

After searching the home, officers found a gun, along with cash and drugs, including:

118 grams of counterfeit Adderall
30mg of pressed fentanyl pills
17 grams of psychedelic mushrooms
16 grams of marijuana
.28 grams of LSD
23 grams of an "unknown white powder"

The Floyd County Sheriff's Department detailed the arrest on its Facebook page.

The post also includes an image of Louisville Metro Police uniforms and patches. The sheriff's department said it is working to return the uniforms to LMPD.

Tussey pleaded guilty to wanton endangerment in August 2023 in connection with the incident in the Highlands in 2021. Charges of terroristic threatening and disorderly conduct were dismissed. He was facing up to 20 years in prison but was sentenced to two years in that case and released because he had already spent two years in jail.

Previously, in 2017, Tussey was acquitted of a murder charge in the slaying of a St. Matthews man at the Mallgate Apartments in Louisville in 2015.

Tussey now faces numerous felony charges in Floyd County, including dealing cocaine, fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a gun by a convicted felon.

He remains in custody at the Floyd County Jail.
