LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky State Fair winning entry is getting a lot of attention for being pulled from display.

Preston Poling, also known as The Bearded miniaturist on social media, won a third place ribbon for his entry into the miniatures exhibit. It was later removed because the fair deemed it "inappropriate."

This Kentucky State Fair winning entry was pulled from display for being "inappropriate."

The entry was titled "The Casting Couch." It was an office display with a couch, desk, computer, chair and camera. Viewers quickly realized it was depicting a pornography set.

"I created it piece-by-piece to be an identical replica of the one that we're all familiar with, or we don't want to admit that we're familiar with," Poling joked.

Tuesday night, fans told him the display was missing. Poling thought it might have possibly been stolen because of the publicity it received on social media, so he went to check it out.

"I got the state troopers at the fair involved Wednesday morning," Poling said. "That's when I found out apparently the fair board was considering stripping all of my awards for this year and disqualifying them completely as an artist."

In a written statement, Lexie Ratterman, the senior communications manager for Kentucky Venues, confirmed Poling's piece was removed by officials.

"Entries submitted to the fair are routinely reviewed throughout the event and the entry in question has been removed from display at this time," Ratterman said in the statement.

Poling said he didn't mean to offend anyone with this "tongue-in-cheek joke."

"The joke's not on the judges. The joke isn't on people who are offended by this," he said. "The joke is to submit something that you either get or you don't get."

Poling also won ribbons for two of the three other pieces he submitted. He was awarded "Best in Show" for his piece based on AMC's "The Walking Dead," and a craftsmanship award for his entry based on the children's book "Goodnight Moon."

After consideration, Poling was allowed to keep the ribbons for those pieces, and they remain on display in the fair's exhibit hall.

"The superintendent of the fair board asked me to use a little sensitivity in the future because some things might be controversial," Poling said.

Poling plans to display this miniature office in his studio at the Mellwood Arts Center once the fair ends.
