LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Several local community centers are getting brand new computer labs.

On Wednesday, Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg made the announcement at the Southwick Community Center in the Park Duvalle neighborhood.

Six local community centers will get brand new computer lands, 3D printers and more as part of the Metro Government's commitment to digital inclusion.

"Having computer access and having internet access and computers is so important to everyone but particularly to young people to learn how to use technology to develop skills that are so necessary as people get older and want to have jobs and continue their lifelong learning," Greenberg said. "Knowing how to use a computer and being fluent in computer skills is as important as reading and writing and math."

The other community centers getting new computer labs include California, Park Hill, Portland south Louisville with more in the works.
