LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new artificial intelligence tool designed to change how doctors see the heart is coming to Kentucky and southern Indiana through Norton Heart & Vascular Institute.

Norton is one of just 12 health systems in the country selected to help roll out the technology, which builds fast, highly detailed 3D images of the heart to guide treatment for dangerous rhythm disorders.

Doctors said the AI-powered mapping can give them a clearer, more immediate look at what’s happening inside the heart — helping speed up procedures while improving accuracy and safety for patients.

The technology is expected to make complex cardiac care more efficient, especially for patients dealing with irregular heartbeats that can be difficult to diagnose and treat.
