LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A person is in critical condition at a local hospital after they were hit by a car near Valley Station Wednesday evening.
Police were called to Dixie Highway at West Blevins Gap Road around 7 p.m. on a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a statement. That's just outside Valley Station.
Once on scene, police found a person in the road who had been hit. Investigators believe a pickup truck was headed north on Dixie Highway when they hit the person in the roadway.
Mitchell said the pedestrian was transported to University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition. Due to the severity of their injuries, LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
Mitchell said "all parties" stayed at the scene.
