LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new citizen-led group met on Saturday for the first time in hopes of making sure everyone in the community has their voices heard.

The Louisville Metro Watchdog Alliance aims to keep the community aware of new developments and plans to educate citizens on how to participate in Louisville Metro's planning and design process.

The group also focuses on increasing citizen engagement, advocating for transparency and accountability in local government, along with encouraging communication between community members and Metro Council.

"When it comes to public comment, they're not being heard, they're getting a couple minutes and then they feel like they're not being heard and then things are just moving on without any concerns being answered or dealt with," Louisville Metro councilman Dan Seum (R-13) said. "They just feel like it's just a motion for them to go through, and they're fed up with it."
