LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Sentencing for the Louisville man who was found with homemade explosives and chemicals in his home was postponed Monday morning.
Marc Hibel was arrested in 2023 after officials found explosive chemicals at his home on Applegate Lane in the Highview neighborhood.Â
Hibel entered an Alford plea in court in September, which is used when the defendant maintains his or her innocence but admits there's enough evidence to be found guilty if the case is taken to trial.Â
Hibel was expected to be formally sentenced Monday morning, but a new sentencing hearing was set for 9:30 a.m. Dec. 16. His attorney said Hibel has been couch surfing and wants more stable housing before he is sentenced.
The recommended sentence for Hibel is probation as long as he follows the terms of the agreement and continues mental health treatment.
