LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Comedian Shane Gillis sold out the KFC Yum! Center on Saturday night, setting a record for the arena's highest-grossing comedy show ever.

The record broke a November 2022 show by Kevin Hart in downtown Louisville. More than 14,500 people attended Gillis' show.

"Hosting Shane Gillis for this record-setting performance was a thrill," Eric Granger, general manager of the KFC Yum! Center, said in a news release Monday. "The energy in the building was electric, and fans were clearly having a great time. It was a night of nonstop laughs and a testament to the strength of live comedy at the arena level."

When the Louisville show was announced in May, KFC Yum! Center officials said Gillis had already set all-time ticket sales records at six arenas.

Gillis is a comedian and actor from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. His Netflix special "Beautiful Dogs" reached the Netflix top 10 in five countries and spent two weeks in the US top 10 list.

Later this year, the KFC Yum! Center will also host Nate Bargatze and Katt Williams.
