LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The city of Shively welcomed the newest vehicle for its fire department on Sunday.
Shively Fire Department unveiled a new Seagrave Fire Truck at the Park Road Station. The new truck replaces and older fire truck.
Some fire trucks can stay in rotation for more than 25 years. Shively Fire Department has been working on getting a new truck in service for about two years.
On Sunday, there was a wet-down and push-in ceremony, which is a tradition when a new truck is put into service.
"One good thing about Seagrave is its safety," said Chief Charles Mucker with Shively Fire Department, "It has a full stainless steel cab, flows 1,500 gallons per minute, has a 500-gallon booster tank."
The truck cost just under $740,000.
