LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville's newest skate park is already upping the competition.
Sprak Skate Park on North 27th Street hosted the Damn Am amateur skateboarding contest series.
Twelve skaters from all over the world competed in the finals at the brand new indoor skatepark.
They did three, one minute runs with the best run to count. Although it's new, the park is already making its mark with the sport.
"Essentially these amateur events are the last stop for competitive skaters before they turn pro so if you do well at this event and you get a special spot at Tampa Am in November, and you do well there there is a very good chance you will be a household name in skating boarding within the next year or two," professional skateboarder Paul Zitzer said.
Next stops will be Costa Mesa, California and New York City.
