LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Tuesday marked eight years since Tommy Ballard was shot and killed.
Ballard is the father of missing Bardstown mom Crystal Rogers.
He vowed to find out what happened to his daughter, and conducted many of his own searches for her before his death.
Ballard was killed on family property in 2016 while he was getting ready to go hunting with his grandson.
Last year, in a court hearing for Rogers' murder, new details in Ballard's murder investigation were revealed.
Brooks Houck, Rogers' boyfriend at the time of her disappearance and the father of one of her children, is one of the suspects in her murder. Prosecutors said his brother, Nick Houck, sold a rifle that is the same caliber as the gun that killed Ballard.
The FBI is still waiting on test results from that gun.
