LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A popular basketball tournament returned to the courts at Shawnee Park.
While the focus may be the sport, it's also helping shed some light on health.
UofL Health was at the Dirt Bowl championship game Sunday providing health screenings such as blood pressure checks which can alert health care workers to potential issues.
There was even stop the bleed training for attendees as well as mental health professionals on hand.
"A lot of times injuries happen in the community, they don't happen at the hospital so we need people in the community to be able to know what to do to give us a little more time to work with them once they get to the hospital," UofL Community Health Supervisor Kiara James said.
There were also representatives available to offer domestic violence resources.
