LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Funeral arrangements were announced after a Kentucky firefighter died earlier this week.Â
Lieutenant Brian Hatt, 51, a volunteer firefighter with the Raywick Fire Department, died at UofL Health Hospital on Aug. 25, three days after the Raywick Fire Department tanker truck he was driving overturned on KY 537 in Marion County as he was on his way to assist another fire department.
He leaves behind a wife and three children.
Visitation is scheduled for 3-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Marion County Events Center at 101 Independence Drive in Lebanon.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m., with Rev. Dan Durham officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery in Raywick, where firefighters' rites will be conducted.
Hatt's obituary describes him as "a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered for his humor, caring heart, and dedication to helping others."
Before joining the Raywick Fire Department, where he served for 12 years, Hatt also served his country for 12 years in the U.S. Army.
Hatt's obituary says "his quick wit, kindness, and willingness to lend a hand touched everyone who knew him.Â
